Meerpaal Zoutelande Foundation

Meerpaal Zoutelande Foundation

The Meerpaal Zoutelande Foundation was founded in 2022 by the Melis family.

Not every child grows up carefree. Poverty, family problems or illness can get in the way of growing up normally. Through the Meerpaal Zoutelande Foundation, we support organisations, projects and initiatives that alleviate suffering and offer a helping hand. The Foundation also supports initiatives that encourage sport and exercise and put a smile on children's faces.

Charities & projects we support

  • When the foundation had only just been set up, the disaster in Turkey and Syria occurred. Partly because of the scale of the disaster and the number of families affected, we thought it natural to make a donation to Giro 555 here.

  • Our ‘colleague’ Levien, an employee of Oude Tol Groenprojecten who works a lot at our holiday park, took part in a recovery trip organised by the Hope 4 Ukraine Foundation. We made a financial contribution to his trip. It was with great admiration that we followed his trip. Click here for a video of the work carried out.

  • We supported Silke Jobse in her action for Kika and made a donation of € 1,500.

  • We made a donation to the Lentekind Foundation: Lentekind is an orthopaedic centre for movement and development. They provide care and support the development of children and young adults with, for example, a developmental delay, intellectual disability or non-congenital brain injury.

  • We made a donation to Stichting Hartekind: Stichting Hartekind is committed to increasing the survival chances of ‘heart children’ and improving quality of life. Hartekind Foundation funds life-changing research, organises/supports events and initiatives for this purpose and educates parents. This is how they work towards a world in which heart children can be children carefree! still 150 heart children also die every year, making heart defect the number one cause of death among children under 15.

  • In 2024, we will be a gold sponsor of Ride for the Roses. The DELTA Ride for the Roses is the cycling event in Zeeland for young and old. The event aims to accelerate cancer research. Whether you enjoy cycling 25 kilometres on a city bike with your children or challenge yourself to ride 120 kilometres in a group on a racing bike. Everyone is welcome. Together we cycle for a world with less cancer, more cures and an improved quality of life for people affected by cancer.
